A BRIEF INTRODUCTION
Swimming is a life skill and although it is more often thought of as a sport or a leisure pursuit, primarily it is a means by which a person of any age can learn to survive in water and have fun.
Len Hatcher has been teaching swimming in Cornwall since 1985. He is a fully qualified Teacher, Tutor, Examiner and Diploma Member of the Swimming Teachers Association, an Advanced Instructor with the British Sub Aqua Club, Snorkelling Instructor and a First Aid at Work Instructor and Examiner. He comes from a background of competitive swimming, National Life-Saving and Sub-Aqua Diving.
The Len Hatcher Swim School follows the syllabi of the S.T.A. and B.S.A.C. Pupil’s progress is defined through a series of awards and badges. Len has helpers, all of whom were trained by him and are qualified as Life Savers and Swimming Teachers with the S.T.A.
The Swim School is run at Truro and Treliske School pools where we provide a comprehensive range of classes for all ages as well as for individuals. One to one lessons with Len are also available at the four star Budock Vean Hotel in Mawnan Smith, by arrangement with Len, see 'Individual Lessons' in the side bar. Intensive Learn to Swim sessions are also available for holiday makers and for locals at the hotel.
Classes available for children include: Beginners, Improvers, Coaching, Life Saving & Survival, Snorkelling, Swimming Teacher and Lifeguard Training. Aquarobics is available for adults in Falmouth. Those with special needs are particularly welcome.
